Location: Colombia (remote)

We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Cost Controller to ensure accurate cost accounting. The Cost Controller will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and reporting company costs, ensuring they remain within established budgets, and optimizing resource use.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Control and Oversight
  • Review and analyze the company’s monthly operational and administrative costs to identify variances.
  • Implement cost control procedures and conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy in cost records.
  • Oversee proper recording and classification of costs, including materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
• Financial Analysis and Reporting
  • Prepare reports on budgeted vs. actual cost variances, identifying the root causes of these differences.
• Cost Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Assist in preparing the annual cost budget and conduct periodic reviews to compare actual results with the budget.
  • Collaborate on financial forecasting, projecting future costs based on historical trends and business plans.
• Process Optimization and Cost Reduction
  • Propose and implement strategies for cost reduction by analyzing efficiencies in production and administrative processes.
  • Work with other departments to identify cost optimization opportunities across the company.
• Inventory Control
  • Supervise inventory and material costs, ensuring compliance with valuation standards under US GAAP.
  • Implement controls and procedures to minimize losses and ensure optimal inventory turnover.
    

Requirements:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cost accounting, financial control, or similar roles in companies adhering to US GAAP standards.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
• Competencies:
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
